Our Zuckerman Faculty Scholars enjoyed a special gathering in Tel Aviv on July 13. It was an opportunity to meet in person and welcome new faculty scholars who joined the program this year.
The evening included presentations by Zuckerman Faculty Scholars. Dr. Danny Ben-Zvi, head of the Ben-Zvi Lab at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Hadassah Medical Center presented a 5-year perspective on “Opening a Lab.” Dr. Michal Ramot, a new Zuckerman Faculty Scholar who will soon be opening a lab at the Weizmann Institute of Science, spoke about her research in a talk called “Network, Behavior and Plasticity in the Human Brain.”
The scholars heard an overview of the program’s achievements over the past five years, and talks by two special guest speakers. Daphna Shohamy, Principal Investigator at Columbia’s Zuckerman Institute and Co-Director of Columbia’s Kavli Institute for Brain Science, spoke about “What Makes a Meaningful Scientific Journey.” Daniel Benoliel, Professor of Law at the University of Oxford Faculty of Law, Visiting Academic at the Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre, and Professor at the University of Haifa Faculty of Law, spoke about “Commercialization of Academic Research.”
