The Ben-Zvi Lab uses bariatric surgeries as a tool to study obesity, weight-loss and remission form metabolic diseases. We utilize mouse models, data and tissues from patients, and mathematical modeling in our research. Topics of interest include the gut-brain axis in obesity and weight-loss, molecular mechanisms leading to remission of type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, how maternal metabolism affects embryonic development and regenerative biology of the gastrointestinal tract.
Post-doctoral fellows with background in experimental or computational biology are welcome to send their CV.
