Post-Doctoral position at Metallurgy and Applied Nanoscience Lab, affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Description of the lab

The group focuses on development of high-temperature energy conversion devices (SOFCs). The position includes:

  • Fabrication and characterization of initial materials using wet-chemistry method, solid state reaction, and other techniques
  • Synthesis of cells using 3D, inkjet, screen print, and other methods
  • Sintering process
  • Cell fabrication
  • Catalytic activity and cell performance analysis including impedance, j-V characteristics, and other methods
  • Characterization

Post requirements

  • D. Degree in Materials Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related fields
  • A strong background and hands-on ability on mentioned synthesis techniques
  • Experience in electron microscopy, XRD, TGA/DSC, Raman spectroscopy, cell test station, and particularly in potentiostat / galvanostat
  • Efficient writing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly research-oriented and ability to provide holistic solutions
