An open postdoctoral position to study the biophysical properties of cytoskeletal networks in muscle

The research in our lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms of muscle wasting and weakness during aging and disease. A postdoctoral position is now open to study the nano-structures of cytoskeletal networks and their physical properties in order to advance understanding of the triggers for wasting. For this project we use cutting edge technologies in biochemistry, electron microscopy, super-resolution microscopy. Our goal is to identify novel drug targets for therapeutic intervention.

We are looking for a candidate with background and technical experience in biophysics and/or mathematics/physics. Experience with microscopy techniques is an advantage. We are seeking a highly motivated, excellent and enthusiastic postdoc, with passion for science to join our team! The successful candidate will enjoy stimulating research environment, will benefit from working in a dynamic and highly collaborative group, and will have access to state-of-the-art technologies and core-facilities at Technion.

The Technion has been Israel’s primary technological university for more than eight decades and the largest center of applied research. It is ranked among the leading technological universities in the world, and its researchers have won many prestigious international awards over the years, including three Nobel prizes in the last decade.

Postdoctoral candidates are welcome to contact Dr. Shenhav Cohen (shenhavc@technion.ac.il) with a statement of interest and CV.
