Open postdoctoral positions to study mechanisms of muscle weakness in aging, disease or exposure to microgravity

We are recruiting! Open postdoctoral positions to study mechanisms of muscle wasting and weakness in aging, disease or exposure to microgravity. The research in our lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms of protein degradation in atrophying muscle during aging, fasting, cancer, metabolic disorders (type 2 diabetes, obesity), microgravity, or motor neuron degeneration. We use cutting edge innovative technologies in biochemistry, genetics, and proteomics, as well as bioinformatic approaches, electron microscopy, and super-resolution microscopy. The combination of these powerful tools together with the development of in vitro regimes increase our understanding of muscle architecture and homeostasis in health and disease.

Postdoctoral positions are now available in our lab. We are seeking highly motivated, excellent, hard-working, and enthusiastic postdocs, with passion for science to join our team! The successful candidates will enjoy a unique stimulating research environment, will benefit from working in a dynamic and highly collaborative group, and will have access to state-of-the-art technologies and core-facilities.

The Technion has been Israel’s primary technological university for more than eight decades and the largest center of applied research. It is ranked among the leading technological universities in the world, and its researchers have won many prestigious international awards over the years, including three Nobel prizes in the last decade.

Postdoctoral candidates are welcome to contact Dr. Shenhav Cohen ([email protected]) with a statement of interest and CV.
