Comparing Energy Transfer Rates in Photosynthetic Proteins of Purple Bacteria
Department of Chemistry, MIT

Dr. Dvir Harris is an Israeli Zuckerman postdoctoral scholar researching the field of optical microscopy/spectroscopy at MIT’s Department of Chemistry in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His research on the differences in energy transfer rates in photosynthetic proteins of different species of purple bacteria was featured in a paper published in the Journal of Physical Chemistry.

Dr. Harris was recently featured as a guest on Israel’s popular Hebrew-language podcast Mada Gadol Baktana (“Big Science In Detail”), where he talked about the field of photosynthesis and his research at MIT. He was an invited speaker at the 85th Annual Meeting of the Israel Chemical Society, held in Jerusalem in February.
